DOOMBEN Race 8 No 14 COOL EDITION 2nd $

Ridden aggressively by Rick and put into a good position midfield on the fence

Got held up coming between the 600 m and the 400m, However got the split

and sprinted with the winner and it had too much momentum and over powered

her on the line

SANDOWN Race 6 No 9 PATINA unplaced

As usually given a perfect ride by Michael, forth the fence and got the split on the turn,

however never showed much courage, and stopped to be unplaced.

KEMBLAGRANGE Race 6 No 6 UNIVERSAL COLOURS 2nd $1.70

Got back as expected in moderate tempo, came with a flying run through the middle

and just missed, not far of a win this fellow

Morphetteville Race 4-6 DOLLOPS unplaced

HEAVILY BACKED and give every hope, running forth, got into the clear at the

400m and didn't sprint as well as it can. Weakened out of it late.

Rosehill Race 2-4 DONNA'S APPEAL unplaced

Sat outside of the leader early and when the leader put on the speed at the 700m,

didn't chase it. Let the leader/winner get away too far, no chance of picking it up.

Rosehill Race 5-1 BLACK MINX unplaced

Indecisive ride by Jimmy, and had to use her up early, to sit out side the leader,

under pressure coming to the turn, and was the first horse beat. (Stewards Report)

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of Black Minx, J Byrne stated he had to

make some use of the filly to get across closer to the rail in the early stages, but that the effort was

most disappointing in that the horse was beaten prior to the home turn. A post race veterinary

examination of Black Minx did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr M Webb indicated that

Black Minx had settled in well since arriving in Sydney on Wednesday and could offer no

explanation for the filly’s effort other than it appeared more agitated than normal in its race day

stall. He undertook to report the results of a full veterinary examination.

Flemington Race 5-6 ROADHOG Unplaced

The Money was on today and Michael put him in a winning position, in the box seat

got a split between runners on the turn and only plugged away to the line, disappointing.

Flemington Race 8-3 JUST LIKE EL unplaced

Got back near last on the fence, started to pull when race pace slowed. had trouble getting

a clear run, until the 300m however it was to late and the race was over.(Stewards Report)

When questioned regarding the performance of Just Like El, S Arnold explained that the pace of the race was steady in the early stages and that when he placed his mount under pressure on straightening it failed to respond and in his opinion the mare may not have appreciated today’s track conditions as he felt it may have jarred up on the run to the winning post. A veterinary examination of Just Like El revealed no obvious abnormalities and a post race swab sample was taken for analysis.
