Post Mortem April 20th,2009

April 15th, 2009
Warwick Farm Race 6-6 African Prince 2nd $1.50

Got the perfect run  3rd the fence in a moderate speed, come away from the fence at the 700m to obtain a clear run. He put pressure on the leader and stable mate, however couldn't get past him , No excuses.

Sandown Race 4-8 Piece Of The Sky 3rd $1.80

Got a nice run from the alley and even though, it was a slow run race had every chance to catch the winner. Got tired over the concluding stages to just hold on for third.

18th April, 2009

Flemington Race 3-1 MARVEEN 1st $2.20- $1.80

Settled third in a good speed, got off the leaders heals on the turn. Put down the challenge to the leaders, upon straightening and drew away for a not so convincing win.

Flemington Race 6-3 IN THE SHADOWS unplaced

Sat second in a moderate speed , challenged the leader with two others on the turn, hit the front briefly and gradually weakened out of the finish, see stewards report. (Stewards Report) D Brereton reported at scale that he felt there was something amiss with In The Shadows.  A further veterinary examination of In The Shadows after the race revealed no abnormalities.  Trainer Mr P Maher was requested to report back to Stewards if anything was amiss with the gelding over the next few days.

Eagle Farm Race 6-4 SIMPLEST 2nd $1.90

Got the perfect run and had the drop on the leaders, looked to be home for all money, when the winner came late to grab him on the line.

Gold Coast Race 6-9 STARSPLASH (Best Bet) 3rd $1.40

Chis took the sit behind the leaders and got shuffled back to 5th,  came to the outside in the straight. Ran to the lead in the straight and stopped as quick as it got there. However held on for third, probably needs to be ridden more patiently next time.

Randwick Race 7-10 VISION AND POWER 1st $11.10-$3.80

A touch slow to begin and got back worse than midfield with cover. As always there was plenty of speed on and Jimmy waited until the 500m to make his run. Even though he was  the widest runner, he keep his momentum going and being proven at 2000m, he hit the line stronger than the others for a good result.
